John Brannan
Executive Vice-President & Chief Operating Officer
As Executive Vice-President & Chief Operating Officer, John is responsible for all our upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas operations, including governance of our partnerships with ConocoPhillips and Phillips 66. John also leads the regulatory, Aboriginal relations, centralized supply services, and health and safety functions.
Prior to his current role, John was Executive Vice-President and President, Integrated Oil Division. The company's divisional structure was changed in late 2010 to better align our operations with our 10-year business plan. John has over 30 years of oil and natural gas experience in drilling, production operations and project management in a variety of domestic and international locations. He joined the company in 2001 as a Senior Vice-President and was responsible for the development of the Buzzard discovery in the U.K. North Sea.
John has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University and is a member of The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and the Association of Petroleum Engineers of Nova Scotia. John is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
